DescriptionSalt-glazed stoneware canning jar or wax sealer: reddish-orange body clay has fired to a light gray; very broad base, tapers slightly inward toward top; three bright cobalt-blue brushed-on bands at base, midline, and top; two undercut lines at neck, with square-sectioned over-hanging rim; formed interior shelf at mouth, with tapered convex flange to fit a wax-sealed cap or lid (not intact); interior coated in Albany brown slip.Dimensions7.5 x 5.75 in.
