Historical NotesW.H. Elverson, John Sherwood, and C.A. Barker began the pottery compay in 1879. In 1881, Louis Barker entered the firm, though the products were still stencilled with "E.S. & B.". In 1890, the company was sold to the Pittsburgh Clay Manufacturing Company. Part of a collection of stoneware from local manufacturers in the Western Pennsylvania region.
