DescriptionGAR badge made up of three sections: two bronze medals and a faded red nylon ribbon. The first portion of the medal is made up by the image of a log and two banners with the city name and date. It also has a smaller medal hanging in front of the ribbon. This smaller piece is in the shape of a keystone, with two rearing horses and a flying eagle surrounding a shield. The second section of the medal is round, with the inscription describing the depicted around the outer band. Within the band is the profile of a man in a suit and tie. The reverse of the upper medal holds the pin. The reverse of the lower medal has the image of the blade of a circular saw, with the event information within.Dimensions1.5 x 3.5 in. (3.8 x 8.9 cm)
InscriptionsThe banner at the top of the log has the word "WILLIAMSPORT", and the one below states "FEB. 1895".

The bottom section of the medal has the inscription "DEPARTMENT COMMANDER / 1894" around the outer band.

The reverse of the lower medal has the words "DELEGATE TO 29TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT / DEP'T OF PENNA / G.A.R." within.
Historical NotesPart of a collection relating to the Pennsylvania Grand Army of the Republic and John Remley who served in the Civil War and was active in the leadership of the GAR. The collection documents the military career of a Civil War soldier from the Western Pennsylvania region.
