DescriptionGAR badge. The badge is made up of four sections. The first is the uppermost brass medal. The base is in the form of a rectangular bar. At the center is an elliptical image of a monument or fountain with seated figures below a standing female figure with her arms a word describing the wearer, and the second a much thinner decorative one. Extending from either side of the central image is a banner that has the event name. The arches and the banner are all inlaid with royal blue enamel; the words are brass. The second section of the medal is the goldenrod yellow nylon ribbon. The third is a smaller round brass charm that hangs from the bottom of the topmost portion of the medal. The outer band of the circle is inscribed with the city name and year; this is also done in brass on a background of blue enamel. Within the outer band, is a Latin phrase that appears above two images. The first is that of the scales, and the second, beneath the first, is a crossed sword and caduceus (Greek symbol of medicine with two serpents and winged staff). The fourth section of the medal is a brass medallion that hangs beneath the ribbon. The sides are ringed by branches: laurel on the left, and olive on the right. At the top is a radiating sunburst, directly under which is an eagle with it's wings outspread sitting atop two crossed cannons. Below the cannons is an American flag, hung vertically with the stars on the left-hand side. At the very bottom is an upside-down star with a seal depicting two men shaking hands in front of a third figure, with organization name and military service information. Across the fourth section of the medal is a raised acronym of the organization with the "G" inlaid with red enamel, the "A" with white, and the "R" with blue. The reverse side of the medal is plain, except for the maker's mark.Dimensions1.875 x 4.375 in. (4.8 x 11.1 cm)
InscriptionsThe top section has text "DELEGATE" and "32ND NATIONAL / ENCAMPMENT".
