DescriptionStorage jar or crock, six-gallon size, orange terracotta-color clay has fired to an olive-gray color, under a salt glaze; wide, straight-sided form; two arc-shaped extruded(?) handles near rim; wide and heavy rolled-over rim; brown albany glazed interrior; combination of freehand and stencilled cobalt-slip decoration; brushed straight and wavy lines, sharply-cut stencil with maker information; below this, a freehand numeral, flanked by three wavy lines, one side of which appears to have been smudged before firing; somewhat concave base is largely unglazed.Dimensions14.5 x 13.25 in.
