Historical NotesThis watercolor set was used by Tim Menees from 2006 to the collection's donation in 2018 during his work for the Pittsburgh Quarterly. He sometimes used watercolor on paper as it got more sophisticated printing techniques. For more recent publications and to outline, he used colored pencils. Part of a collection of supplies used by cartoonist Tim Menees during his career as a cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and as a contributor for the Pittsburgh Quarterly. Menees grew up in Seattle and worked as a reporter and columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer before moving to Pittsburgh in 1976. Menees was the cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette for almost thirty years. Since 2006, he has been a frequent contributor to the Pittsburgh Quarterly.
