Historical NotesJames Eneix was a son-in-law of the prosperous New Geneva potter, S.R. Dilliner, and possibly trained with Dilliner prior to 1866. From 1874 to 1876, he worked alone; this brief period seems to be when this particular piece was made. In 1877, Eneix entered a partnership with Alpheus Frankenberry (see 2008.143.5). In 1879, he formed a company with William Evans, also known as "Stony Point Pottery" (or Eneix & Evans).
