DescriptionWhite background quilt has sixteen red and green appliqued blocks that feature a variation of the hickory wreath and reel pattern. The central patterns are arranged four across and four down. The quilt is very closely hand quilted at nine to eleven stitches per inch with a floral design in the space between reels. She was the daughter of Wm. Hatfield, a judge of Fayette County. Sara and her family lived along the National Road (now Route 40); she had nine children.
