Historical NotesThis button is part of a larger political collection collected by Dorothy Larson. The button is from Linda Dickerson's campaign for county commissioner. She was active in the Pittsburgh community by serving on more than two dozen nonprofit boards, served as the CEO of the National Aviary, and served on various committees for Carnegie Mellon. Dickerson, having been born with Werdnig-Hoffmann, was a lifetime advocate for people with disabilities, and she was involved with lobbying efforts to get the American with Disabilities Act passed into federal law. The donor Denis Attenburger's mother-in-law, Dorothy Larson, was a delegate for the State of Pennsylvania at the Republican National Convention in 1976, 1980, and 1984. She supported numerous Republican candidates and causes, which are reflected in the various pins and campaign materials she collected.
