Historical NotesThis button is part of a larger political collection collected by Dorothy Larson. The button was made during George W. Bush's presidential campaign in the 2000 election; Bush would go on to win with his running mate, Dick Cheney. Bush served two terms from 2001 to 2009. The design on the button is in reference to the popular Taco Bell commercial that showed a chihuahua saying, "Yo quiero Taco Bell." The chihuahua mascot was used from 1997 to 2000. The donor Denis Attenburger's mother-in-law, Dorothy Larson, was a delegate for the State of Pennsylvania at the Republican National Convention in 1976, 1980, and 1984. She supported numerous Republican candidates and causes, which are reflected in the various pins and campaign materials she collected.
