The donor's German born grandfather Wolfgang owned and operated Zoglmann's Barroom Hotel until his death in 1949. Afterwards, the bar was operated by Frances and Loretta Zoglmann until 1965 and has passed hands several times since.Label TextOne of several canvas murals that originally hung in Zoglmann’s Barroom and Hotel, located at 6th Street and Carson in Pittsburgh’s Southside neighborhood, this depicts a hunting scene typical of Germanic decorative painting. Wolfgang Zoglmann emigrated from Austro-Hungary in the late nineteenth century and became the sole owner of the bar and restaurant that carried his name.
