DescriptionLong-sleeved shirt dress with patent leather belt. Off-white dress with black window pane pattern throughout. Four black fabric buttons down the front bodice, with a closing clasp at the waist, and a metal snap button just below the waist. One black fabric button on each wrist. Full pleated skirt. Manufacturer's tags at the back of the waist. Black wide leather patent belt. Square-shaped belt buckle, thin metal frame with plastic or possibly celluloid wrapped around the front-facing side. Historical NotesThis dress is from the mid-1960s when Anne Fogarty had her own firm Anne Fogarty, Inc. Designer Anne Fogarty was active from 1940-1980. She designed for Margot, Inc. from 1950-1957 and Saks Fifth Avenue from 1957-1964. In 1964 she started her own firm Anne Fogarty, Inc. She retired in 1974 and closed her business.
