DescriptionBat mitzvah dress. Light pink. Knee-length. Sleeveless bodice is constructed of pink satin base layer with overlaid pink sheer fabric; six fabric-covered buttons down front of bodice. Zipper down back opening of dress. Full skirt is constructed of underlayer of pink tulle, pink satin layer, and overlaid pink sheer fabric; top two layers of skirt fabric are pleated around waist. Pink leather(?) belt with sheer pink fabric over front. One end has bow with two male-end metal snaps on reverse flanked by two metal staples. Other end has three female-end metal snaps.Dimensions(a) Width at bodice 15.5, Width at waist 12.5, Width at skirt bottom 40, Length 38;
(b) Height 1.125, Width folded (as worn) 11.375, Width unfolded 29.125, Depth 0.625.
Marks(a)
White fabric tag inside dress' back panel to the proper left of the zipper has black printed text "Lot / Size 7".

Historical NotesDress worn by donor Nancy Moidel Ciccone to her May 24, 1963, Bat Mitzvah. Ciccone was a student in one of the first classes offered to girls preparing for their bas mitzvah (now bat mitzvah) at the Aliquippa Jewish Community Center. According to the donor she was part of the first combined gender classes at the Center.
