Historical NotesImmaculate Conception School uniform worn by Dena Dortenzo. The uniform would have been worn with a pale-yellow button down shirt with a Peter Pan collar. She remembers her mother taking her shopping at a store on Mount Washington that sold uniforms for local Catholic schools. Dena spent her childhood in the predominately Italian American neighborhood of Bloomfield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended grade school at Immaculate Conception. Dena noted that attending Immaculate Conception, where the congregation was made up of first and second generation Italian Americans, many of their Catholic traditions were brought over from Italy.
