Historical NotesSTS-79 flown beef jerky food packet belonging to Jay Apt. The crew had become fond of this beef jerky during training and Jay Apt ate it often during the busy mission instead of stopping to prepare a meal. The effect on his digestive system was not as benign as that of the conventional space food.
