Label TextThe Gulf Oil Company has sold a number of products during its existence, including the transmission grease and valve top oil cans seen here. The company also sold, of course, the gasoline that was distributed from this 1967 pump. The orange and blue circular Gulf logo that is so quickly recognized today has not always been in use as one can tell by looking at the transmission grease can that was designed in the 1920s. The logo evolved until, with a 1960s redesign, it achieved its current look. Differing stages of the identifying logo can be seen in the other products here. Even the model car has the identifying orange and blue colors that are connected to the Gulf Oil Company today.
