InscriptionsEach glass pane is stamped "Bakewell" backwards on the exterior; the text is consistently around the center of the pane but exact location varies.
Historical NotesLate Federal period cupboard with Bakewell impressed "Lacy" Glass Panes. The cupboard was made in Harrodsburg, KY and the glass panes made in Pittsburgh, PA, circa 1835. Purchased at the Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg, Lincoln County, Kentucky in 1935 by Mrs. Rosetta M. Means of Kansas City, Missouri. Descended in the Means family to the present owner. The museum purchased it at auction from Freeman's in 2015.
