Historical NotesQuality Control Calibration lab sign from Westinghouse Electric. Joseph Maline was a metrologist for Westinghouse Electric in East Liberty. (A metrologist makes precision measurements and comparisons of physical quantities such as mass, length, time, force, speed, voltage, and current; they calibrate precision equipment which measures these physical units.) Maline worked at Westinghouse from 1950 to 1993. His father, Joseph Stephen Maline also worked at Westinghouse as a Safety Coordinator and Welder for 42 years.
