Historical NotesThe Irene Kaufmann Settlement House was located in the Hill District and in 1948 began offering services to the Jewish community in Squirrel Hill and the East End. In 1957 the Irene Kaufmann Center opened in Squirrel Hill. It offered art classes, music lessons, and atheletic events, and programming for various ages.
