InscriptionsOn front, text on left side along edge reads "GEN. JAMES". Along right edge reads: "A. BEAVER".

On reverse side, there is an variation of the Great Seal of the U.S. Above the seal is a banner that reads: "PROTECTION TO". The eagle in the Seal is holding a banner in its mouth; on left side of banner reads: "AMERICAN", and on the right side reads: "INDUSTRY". Below this seal reads: "INAUGURATION". Below this, along the bottom edge of the token, is a banner with "GOVERNOR OF PENNA. JAN. 13 1887".
