DescriptionFraternal badge with metal plate at top (on the back of which is a straight pin) with text identifying wearer. Suspended below is a purple silk ribbon with gold metallic text describing organization. Attached to plate, in front of purple ribbon, is a smaller white silk ribbon with two American flags crossed in center. Medallion attached on bottom edge of ribbon with text describing organization with an image of wreath with banner; in center is a dove with a branch flying above a log with ax and mallet. Reverse side is a black ribbon with silver metallic writing further describing organization. Gold metallic tassels on bottom edge of purple ribbon; grey metallic tassels on bottom edge of black ribbon.Dimensions2.875 x 8.875 in. (7.3 x 22.5 cm)

Historical NotesPart of a collection belonging to James W, Carter a township commissioner of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, from the 1920s to the 1960s. Carter was a member of several fraternal organizations including the American Woodmen, Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows, and the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elk of the World Lodge 515.
