DescriptionSilk fraternal ribbon. Vertically striped black, white, and red. Attached at top is a header with pin on reverse; image of two flags crossed: American flag and one of black, white, and red horizontal stripes. Printed in silver metallic on front is commemorative text. Gold metallic fringe on bottom edge. Attached to center is a circular charm, full color, featuring a harp, bell, and horn in front of sheet music. Attached to reverse side is a black silk ribbon with same text in silver as obverse; however, in center, there is only an image of a harp.Dimensions8.125 x 3 in. (20.6 x 7.6 cm)
InscriptionsPrinted in silver metallic on front of ribbon: "McKees Rocks / Mannerchor / Gegrundet den / 6 Marz, 1892 / McKEES ROCKS, PA." Attached to reverse side is a black silk ribbon with same text in silver as obverse.
Historical NotesA McKees Rocks Maennerchor ribbon. The McKees Rocks Maennerchor, was a German social club incorporated on June 4, 1892. James Petraitis was the secretary of the McKees Rocks Maennerchor during World War II and started a newsletter to keep their members in the service up-to-date on club news and boost morale.
