Historical NotesHonorable Service emblem patch, also known as the "ruptured duck," belonging to Frederick A. Lepant who served during WWII. This emblem, along with the lapel pin, was given to those who served from 1939-1946; this particular color, khaki, was for wear on the summer shirt of a uniform. Frederick Albert Lepant (April 14, 1928-September 18, 2008) was a graduate of Schenley High School, and who resided in Bellevue, was a member of US Army Air Forces during World War II, from 1940-1947. After his military career he was a draftsman at Dravo and then an electrical engineer at Duquesne Light.
