DescriptionSilver miniature beanpot with lid. Lid is circular with heart-shaped knob, decorated with leaves on lid. Pot handles decorated as vines; leaves engraved on the sides of the pot from the handle ends and are also the four feet. Dimensions2.5 x 6.5 in. (6.4 x 16.5 cm)Marks(a)
On bottom: pressed stamps: images of capital A, sailor's hook, body of lion, capital letter L, and profile of a human head; and also engraved numbers, "203-769- / 279".

Historical NotesA silver miniature beanpot awarded by the H.J.Heinz Company to William Hislop. A former umbrella manufacturer, William Hislop began work as a salesman at Heinz U.K. in 1935, located in Glasgow, Scotland. He was quickly promoted to head salesman, and later became (at the time) the youngest appointed manager in the company. Hislop retired from Heinz as Managing Director for Scotland after thirty years of service.
