Historical NotesWallet with WWII ration books, coupons, and tokens. The ration wallet was used for the cards of Herbert Patterson and Katharine Wiley Patterson, her sister Isabel Morrow, and Russel Lester Snyder and Mary Belle Patterson Snyder. Russell Lester Snyder and Mary Belle Patterson Snyder were married on June 20, 1941, and moved to Painesville, Ohio. After Snyder was drafted by the U.S. Army in August of 1943, Mary Belle returned to her parents’ home in Wilkinsburg and got a job as a social worker in the Hill District. After Snyder’s return from the war, he and Mary Belle lived in Edgewood.
