Printed on the ribbon in bronze color is "17th / CONSTITUTIONAL / CONVENTION / PENNSYLVANIA / AFL-CIO / PITTSBURGH, PA. / APRIL 6-9 / 1976".
Around the outside edge of medal is carved "AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR / CONGRESS OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATION".
The center of the medal has two hands shaking with "AFL" carved on the sleeve of the hand on the left and "CIO" carved on the sleeve of the hand on the right.
Above the hands is carved "PENNSYLVANIA" and below the hands is "AFL-CIO".
Marks
There is a small stamp on the back but it is too small to read.
Historical NotesPart of a collection belonging to Bernie Burns. The collection documents Firefighters Local No. 1, the firefighting union of which Bernie Burns was the president; his life as a firefighter; and additional items that document growing up in Lawrenceville in the 1960s and 1970s.
