Historical NotesFt. Pitt Rifle Club trophy. The Ft. Pitt Rifle Club started in 1907, and was a civilian rifle club that used military arms. They held yearly competitions involving a variety of firearms. The Ft. Pitt Rifle Club was one of 60 civilian clubs associated with NRA at that time. Dr. D. A. Atkinson was an active member of this organization and was a revolver champion in the club. He was also the honorary Curator of Reptiles at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and donated many specimens to the organization.
