Historical NotesThe donor along with her two sisters worked as a welder in the Shipyards at Dravo Corporation during World War II. The sisters at the time lived in the Observatory Hill neighborhood and commuted via bus or trolley to the plant on Neville Island. Ms. Jurevic worked primarily on the construction of LST craft, and was awarded an E pin for her role in the wartime production effort.Label TextDuring World War II, Vera Jurjevic and her two sisters worked as welders at the Dravo Corporation shipyards on Neville Island. Jurjevic worked as a welder on the construction of LSTs (Landing Ship Tanks, an amphibious vehicle) and received this “E” Award pin for her services.
