Historical NotesPittsburgh High School Department of Hygiene medal, awarded for the high jump. This one is at the Senior high level from 1936. The Department of Hygiene promoted health and wellness in the public school system and was under the Department of Instructions for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Donor David Yorkston purchased the medals at a yard sale and does not know the previous owner or original recipient.
