Historical NotesMarvin Henderson grew up in the Hill District and was introduced to pool while shining shoes at a local barbershop/poolroom named Woogie in the Hill. He gained a reputation as the "Pittsburgh Flash" as he played pool around the country in his teens, the name came from his quick games and flashy dressing. His career almost ended when he was hit by a car in San Francisco, but he recovered and in 1968 won the Stardust "One Pocket" division.
