DescriptionPaper collage. Starting clockwise with light blue spot, colors of tissue range from light blue and white, cream, pink, orange, red, green, pink, blue with wrinkles, green with a piece of cream pasted over blue in upper left corner. There are two pieces of black tissue paper in the center. The piece shows drip marks from glue running down card. In lower right corner, there are two small holes punched.Dimensions6.062 x 6.937 in. Historical NotesArtwork by the Pittsburgh artist Samuel Rosenberg. Artist and teacher Samuel Rosenberg had a prolific career in Pittsburgh, leading him to be called the “Dean of Pittsburgh painters.” He is perhaps best-known for his scenes of the Hill District in the 1920s and 1930s. Rosenberg was a beloved presence in the Pittsburgh art world and influenced numerous artists through his teaching careers at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement, Young Men & Women’s Hebrew Association, and Carnegie Tech.
