Historical NotesMicarta doll cradle made by Edward Kryzosiak for donor Dorothy Gray and her sister. Kryzosiak worked for the Micarta Division of Westinghouse from which he retired in the late 1950s. During the 1940s, he would make toys for his nieces and nephews out of discarded Micarta from the factory. Micarta, a composite of linen or paper fabric in a thermosetting plastic, and precursor to Formica, was developed at Westinghouse as early as 1910.
