The front of the medal has a design of a woman in Greek clothing sitting holding a branch in her left hand and a shield reading "AMA" in her right hand. To the left of her legs is an olive branch and to the right an image of three athletes stretching. The following wording is written around the edge: ALLEGHENY MOUNTAIN ASSN. OF THE A.A.U. On the back there is a design of leaves around the edge, and in the center is an inscription. Attached to ribbon in back is a paper tag with: "CONNEAUT / LAKE / 7-22-34" handwritten in blue ink.

Historical NotesDonated by Cleon Wingard, whose mother, Lenore Kight Wingard, was an Olympic swimmer and an internationally renowned athlete in the 1930s. She participated in the 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games.
