Historical NotesThe Hill House Association was founded in 1964 when the Hill District area in Pittsburgh, a predominantly African American neighborhood, was declining. Formed from the merger of three pre-existing organizations - the Soho Community Center, the Anna B. Heldman Center, and the Hill City Youth Municipality - the goal of the association was to provide support to the community by offering health, welfare, recreation, and community programs in the city's African American community. It was closed in 2019.
