DescriptionFloor-length sleeveless black chiffon dress. Dress has black chiffon underlayer with diaphanous beige chiffon fabric along the neckline and straps; neckline beige chiffon is V-shaped and back is curved. Design creates an illusion-type neckline with pointed sweetheart bodice neckline and backline. Dress has black netting overlay with black polka dots; skirt has overlaid black netting layers as well as applied black netting polka dot fabric knots with tails.DimensionsHeight x Width (Width at waist): 53.75 x 15.5 in. (136.5 x 39.4 cm)Historical NotesPart of a collection of women’s clothing that possibly belonged to donor Louise P. Meyer’s “Aunt Bessie,” her mother’s sister. Most items date from c. 1925 to c. 1935 and belonged to the aunt. She was tall and many of the pieces were made for her and reflect her love of fashion.
