DescriptionDiaphanous pink or peach-colored chiffon beaded gown. Sleeveless with wide shoulder straps. Plunging V-neck and matching backline. Bodice is fitted and skirt widens toward bottom. Ankle-length skirt. Beaded trim along neckline, armscyes, and skirt bottom is in geometric pattern with silver beads and sequins, pink pearls, and colorless rhinestones. Proper left hip has bead embellishment with circular pattern on the hip that ascends into radiating curved lines onto bodice, and descends via a beaded band into a beaded tassel; embellishment is comprised of gray, black, silver, and clear beads; silver sequins; gray and white pearls; and colorless rhinestones. Rectangular diaphanous pink or peach-colored chiffon fabric panel with beaded trim along one short edge that is in geometric pattern with silver beads and sequins, pink pearls, and colorless rhinestones, matching the beaded trim on the gown.DimensionsHeight x Width (a - Width at bottom of skirt): 53.75 x 29 in. Historical NotesPart of a collection of women’s clothing that possibly belonged to donor Louise P. Meyer’s “Aunt Bessie,” her mother’s sister. Most items date from c. 1925 to c. 1935 and belonged to the aunt. She was tall and many of the pieces were made for her and reflect her love of fashion.
