DescriptionColorless glass mug. Mug has a circular base with a body that narrows around the middle with an open, circular mouth. Base has a textured foot with an engraved starburst design on the bottom. Body has three handles designed to look like scimitars with gold-colored handles and silver-colored blades. Three spaces between handles highly decorated; first space features Shriners International emblem. Emblem is a scimitar curved upward with text on the blade; directly beneath scimitar is a white crescent shape pointing downward with gold-capped points and a gold and red-colored image of a sphinx head in the middle. Directly beneath crescent is a five-pointed star with letters at the tip of each point; raised text directly beneath. Next space is a painted oval depicting Niagara Falls; border of oval is line of raised, gold-colored bumps with text directly beneath it. Third space is another painted oval with a yellow bridge over trees and water; border of oval is line of raised, gold-colored bumps with a date directly beneath it.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 3.75 x 4 x 3.875 in. MarksRaised text and emblem in first space: "[on blade of scimitar] SYRIA / [crescent with sphinx head] / [five-pointed star] / PITTSBURGH, PA."; Letters at tip of each point on five-pointed star, clockwise: "L / A / H / A / L".

Gold-colored, raised text in second space: "NIAGARA FALLS".

Historical NotesCommemorative goblet from The Shriner's 1905 Imperial Session that was held in Niagara Falls, NY. Shriner's from around the world come together every summer for the Imperial Session. The first session was held at the Masonic Hall in New York City in 1876. The weeklong event is held in a different city each year.
