DescriptionFlat, rectangular wooden scoreboard. Painted black on both sides. Front proper right side has dimensional white wooden letters mounted with nails that spell team names. Front proper left side has four rectangular openings (two rows of two) with beveled edges. Top and bottom edges each have four drilled holes. Reverse side of the openings have surrounding wooden pieces with slots for holding the score numbers. DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 36 x 63.75 x 1.25 in. (91.4 x 161.9 x 3.2 cm)InscriptionsFront’s proper right side has applied white wooden letters that spell “HOMESTEAD / VISITORS”.
Reverse’s proper right half has faint handwritten text in pencil and white chalk that is difficult to read including “BOB / JOE” and “WANT / A / …ATE / TRY / A / B…”
Historical NotesScoreboard from Homestead High School. This scoreboard was located in the Homestead High School gymnasium in the 1950's and 1960's, probably much earlier. Donor Kathleen Sullivan’s father, Samuel John Sullivan, taught business, math, and accounting from 1937 to around 1973. The donor attended the neighboring Munhall High School which was a few blocks away.
