(1.3 x 24.1 x 61 cm)Historical NotesTwo Bocce scoreboards from the Italian American Instructive Club, Clairton, Pennsylvania. The wooden scoreboards were used to keep score during bocce matches held at the club. The Italian American Instructive Club was founded in 1931, in order to assist Italian immigrants in learning the English language. Located at 310 Waddell Avenue in Clairton, the club was a center of Italian American community life and served as place for immigrants and their descendants to enjoy Italian American leisure practices, namely bocce.
