Historical NotesImmaculate Conception cheerleading jacket worn by Dena Dortenzo during her childhood in the predominately Italian American neighborhood of Bloomfield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Like her mother, who was a librarian at Immaculate Conception, Dena's K-12 education was entirely within the parochial school system. She attended grade school at Immaculate Conception; the Varsity cheerleading jacket was given to her in her third and fourth year of cheerleading when she made the varsity squad. For high school, she attended the all-girls Catholic high school St. Paul's Cathedral, which merged with Sacred Heart in 1989 to form Oakland Catholic.
