DescriptionGray wool felt campaign hat, size 7. Four-dent crown with three metal ventilating eyelets. Black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Flat brim with slightly upturned edges. Brim has one oblong grommet on left and right sides. Front of crown has silver metal hat badge in the shape of the Allegheny County Seal. Interior has black leather sweatband with white ribbon bow tied at back. DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 5.5 x 12.688 x 4.375 in. Historical NotesStetson hat worn as part of an Allegheny County Police patrolman’s uniform. Part of a collection that documents the Allegheny County Police. Formed in 1932, the County Police provide policing for the International and Allegheny airports, county property such as North Park and South Park, as well as assisting local police forces when needed. They have a mounted unit, detective division, as well as homicide and narcotics units.
