DescriptionRectangular two-sided YMCA building sign. Gray metal frame, possibly galvanized aluminum. Each face is white sheet of acrylic plastic with black and yellow text organizational name. Two large metal hooks on top of sign, one near each end; hooks are facing opposite directions. Metal ring on top at center. DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 61.5 × 103 × 8.25 in. (156.2 × 261.6 × 21 cm)

Historical NotesOutdoor sign from the Centre Avenue YMCA. In 2020, the bulding was sold and turned into apartments.Label TextCentre Avenue YMCA sign, 1960s Attached to the YMCA building on the corner of Francis Street and Centre Avenue, this sign welcomed patrons to an organization that had assisted African Americans since 1923.
