DescriptionSampler mounted in wooden frame. Sampler is mounted onto four-member rectangular wooden stretcher with metal nails around the sides. Light brown woven sampler has embroidered decoration. Border is a zig-zagging line with flowers and leaves surrounding; along bottom edge is blue and white zig-zag band. Top section includes upper case block alphabet in dark blue and light blue thread (latter half has color faded), upper case cursive alphabet below in light brown thread (color faded), and numbers 1-14 in light brown thread (color faded). Bottom section has two poems with maker's name and year between all in brown thread; bottom section has plants on left and right of text. Horizontal embroidered borders between sections. Rectangular brown wooden frame with variegated dark brown veneer on front. Frame's sides slope downward from outer perimeter to opening.
