DescriptionMasronite triptych sign. Overall rectangular shape with scrolled top edge. Square center section with scrolled top edge. Left and right leaves are rectangular with curved top edges and are connected to central section with two painted metal hinges each. Front of sign is painted white with fanning yellow, orange, and red sections at bottom and yellow border along top. Painted black, green, blue, and red text has event information with applied beige paper with painted red date. Bottom left section has three gold foil stars and two black-and-white photographs mounted in painted green, silver, and black frames; photos depict Bouncer ride and Wells Fargo Pony Express ride. Bottom right section has three silver foil stars and two black-and-white photographs mounted in painted green, silver, and black frames; photos depict Racer ride and Super Round Up ride. Reverse is painted gray and has wood applied around the perimeter of each section. Historical NotesKennywood Community Picnic sign. Part of a collection covering the history of Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, that was transferred to the Heinz History Center. The collection documents both the general history of the park and the experiences of the people who worked there, documenting Kennywood’s long role as a source of summer employment for generations of high school and college students in the Pittsburgh region.
