Historical NotesAmerican flag, Terrible Towel, and a certificate authenticating that the items were flown over Afghanistan on April 13, 2007, by the 34th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron that donor Jeffrey A. Favorite was a member of. Since many of the men were Steelers fans (even those not from Pittsburgh) they decided to fly the Terrible Towel as well as the flag. The items go in the cockpit with the pilots and then the Commander signs the certificate after the flight. Favorite’s squadron was based in Qatar, but flew support missions in Afghanistan.
