Front of cap has embroidered yellow text above and below an embroidered yellow image of a LST (Landing Ship, Tank). Below the embroidered text are three military ribbons, from left to right: Philippine Liberation ribbon with three stars, Presidential Unit Citation ribbon with one star, and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign ribbon with three stars. Top right corner of front of hat has LST Association 25-year member commemorative pin that features two crossed flags (United States LST Association flag and American flag).Dimensions4.75 x 8.875 x 10.875 in. Top right corner of front of hat has commemorative pin that has gold text at top "LST ASSOC." and bottom "25YR MEMBER" and text on the left flag "UNITED STATES LST ASSOCIATION".

Interior of hat has white mesh material along the front with handwritten notes in ink on proper right "614 [illegible] / [illegible]" and proper left "REED 108".
MarksInterior of hat has white fabric tag at proper left side with black text "65% POLYESTER / 35% COTTON / ADULT FIT ALL".
Historical NotesLST 475 hat with military insignia attached that belonged to Milford H. Reed. Milford H. Reed, a Sharpsburg native, joined the Navy while still in high school, after the U.S. entered World War II. He was stationed on LST 475 during the war. Many LST's were built locally but the 475 was built in Washington state. He was in the Pacific during the war, specifically during the liberation of the Philippines. After the Navy, Reed finished high school, married, and worked in a car dealership selling car parts. He and his wife lived in Millvale.
