DescriptionStudy stained glass window depicting the Adoration of the Magi. The Baby Jesus is depicted sitting on Mary's lap. There are three men showing in robes and wearing crowns in the scene; one of the men is kneeling in front of Mary and Jesus, presenting them with a gift, while the other two men stand in the background, also holding gifts. There are three angels depicted above this scene. In the lower section, there is a depiction of an angel speaking to three shepherds, who are kneeling with their staffs in front of the angel.Historical NotesPrototype stained glass window for East Liberty Presbyterian Church.Label TextHoward Wilbert, an artist at Pittsburgh Stained Glass Studio, executed this panel in an attempt to impress architect Ralph Adams Cram and win a commission for windows in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church. The Studio allowed Wilbert to complete this panel with no constraints on time or costs, so he could do his best possible work. The ploy was successful; Pittsburgh Stained Glass Studio was awarded the contract for the aisle windows of the church.
