DescriptionPainted canvas banner. Multi-colored. Virgin Mary with crown holding roses and set of orange rosaries in proper right hand; Mary's blue robe accented with gold floral designs. Standing/hovering(?) in proper left hand is infant Jesus wearing crown with one rose and one bud, and set of blue rosaries in proper left hand. Red and gold background. Edges lined with dull gold threaded border, with rope loops for decoration.Dimensions42.75 x 76.5 in. (108.6 x 194.3 cm)

Historical NotesThis hand painted canvas banner venerates the Infant of Prague. It was made in Reggio Calabria, in the Calabria region of southern Italy, c. 1950s. It was likely brought to Pittsburgh by an Italian immigrant as a keepsake from the homeland.
