DescriptionThree distinctive multicolored religious scenes created on glass; behind glass is silver foil aluminum cigarette paper. Scene on left: Presentation of the baby Jesus in the Temple (features Simeon holding infant, with Mary and Joseph in the background). Scene in center: Last Supper. Scene on right: Crucifixion (featuring two thieves on crosses, and three Apostles crying at Jesus' cross). Cross with crown of thorns on left and right top, near corners. Set in light brown wooden frame.Dimensions39.125 x 21.125 x 1 in. (99.4 x 53.7 x 2.5 cm)
Signed"Guerra" in the bottom right corner of Last Supper scene.
Historical NotesArtwork done by an inmate at Western State Penitentiary. Eugene "Turk" Guerra was employed at Western State Penitentiary from April 1, 1951 to November 30th, 1983.
