Historical NotesWestinghouse High School letter patch. The late Ed Fleming was a 1951 graduate of Westinghouse High School. He became the first African American basketball player at Niagara University in New York. He was a third round draft choice in the NBA, going to the Rochester Royals in 1955. His career ended in 1960, having also played for the Minneapolis Lakers. In 1968, Fleming became the basketball coach at Westinghouse High School. Collection was donated by his wife, Carrie Fleming.
